In anticipation of the opening of Pompano Beach’s new DOG PARK,
The City of Pompano Beach Parks and Recreation Department
in cooperation with the Dog Pack of Pompano Beach Inc. presents:
DOG PARK ETIQUETTE CLASS!
Join us for a free 90 minute discussion of DOG PARK ETIQUETTE and tips to help you and your dog get the most out of our new dog park!
Topics to include:
- Review of the Rules for using the dog park.
- What you can do to insure that your visit to the dog park will be a successful one.
- Appropriate dog park behavior.
- Dog body language and silent communication.
- How to tell if your dog is a social butterfly or a social outcast.
- What a good meeting between dogs looks like.
- Signs of trouble that might lead to a dog fight.
- What to do if a fight occurs.
- How to tell if your dog is overheating and what to do.
- Signs of deadly Canine Bloat and how to avoid it.
- First aid items to keep in your car to help your dog.
- What to do if you find conflict at the park.
Class Dates: First Monday of every month (unless its a holiday, then it will be the following monday)
Time: 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Location: Emma Lou Olson Civic Center, 1801 NE 6 Street
Each class will consist of a power point slide show followed by a question-and-answer session.
This class is for human companions only!
You can tell your canine companion all about it when you get home!
